Security Outside the Office

Security Outside the Office

Course modified date: 22 Jun 2024
The Security Outside the Office module covers topics on: attack methods that put your information at risk, the risks of using a portable storage device, the difference between a public and a secure network, and what to do if your device is lost or stolen.

When handling sensitive information or accessing the Internet, you should generally keep the same mindset, whether at work or out of the office: that is, proceed with caution.

Being cautious about your surroundings - as well as whom you share your information with - goes a long way toward protecting your personal and work-related privacy. Certain practices can be used to keep your information safe when you are not at your desk.

It is never advisable to share your password with anyone. This allows others to abuse your password privileges and makes it easier for attackers to obtain your password as well. About one in five mobile users share login credentials with a family member or a friend.
