Social Networking

Course modified date: 9 Nov 2022

The Social Networking module covers topics on: how information posted online can be used against you, how apps can make you vulnerable, what makes a site a social network, and how to utilize privacy settings.

Over the past decade, the Web has shifted away from static webpages, towards user-generated content. Sites such as Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn are used by individuals and organizations to connect with other people instantly. These sites are called Social Networks.

Phishing is an online threat that solicits sensitive information to compromise your computer or your accounts. For example, a phisher might send you a link to a phony login page. Fake Facebook login pages are used in over 25,000 attacks daily.
